Ride of Silence Wednesday, May 17, 6:15pm
On May 17, 2017, the Ride of Silence will traverse and unite the globe as nothing before it. Cyclists will take to the roads in a silent procession to honor cyclists who have been killed or injured while cycling on public roadways. Although cyclists have a legal right to share the road with motorists, the motoring public often isn’t aware of these rights, and sometimes not aware of the cyclists themselves.
The Las Cruces area Ride of Silence will start from the Mesilla Plaza by 6:15pm. A one mile walk for those who choose not to ride will also be available. Join us as we remember community members who died or were injured while riding their bikes.
Notes: The twelfth annual Ride of Silence, Mesilla will meet at the historic Mesilla Plaza at 6:15pm on Wednesday, May 17. We will depart on a silent 8-10 mile ride at 6:30pm sharp. Helmets required to participate. Not recommended for children under 12, unless on a trailer or tandem. Non-riding participants may walk around the Town of Mesilla. Participation in the ride is entirely voluntary and self-serve. There is no sign-in, no fee, and no organization behind the event… just some people going for a ride.
